Background

Scientific Background


The folded honeycomb core materials and their cost efficient continuous production processes have been developed in a cooperation of the Department MTM (Metallurgy and Materials Engineering) and the Division PMA (Production, Machine Design and Automation) of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the university K.U.Leuven, Belgium.

The material know how and process knowlegde, the scientific basis of the EconCore technology, was developed in Ph.D. research projects and European research projects with leading industrial partners at the K.U.Leuven.
