EconCore is a honeycomb technology provider located in Leuven, Belgium. We develop, patent, and sell process technology to produce thermoplastic honeycomb cored sandwich panels.

After the success of our technical and commercial developments to date, with a large family of established licensees using EconCore’s production technology around the world and with a daughter company who grew into a world-leading producer of PP honeycomb cores, EconCore has decided to pursue a new exciting market development. Using advanced thermoplastic material systems, EconCore is developing a new line of high performing honeycomb materials with enhanced fire-resistance and fire-smoke-toxicity as well as with an increased heat resistance, amongst others, for the demanding applications of aircraft, public and general transportation. To accelerate these developments, we are looking for:

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Manager (High Performance Thermoplastic Honeycombs)

Are you a candidate with an out-of-the-box approach, high level of dynamism and solid market experience who knows the composite and sandwich panel technologies and can prove a relevant expertise in developing new honeycomb products in order to match the market needs?

We wish to reinforce our team with a candidate looking for new challenges within a dynamically growing organization, where you alone can clearly make a difference while still being member of a team of dynamic engineers striving towards collective goals.

In short, we are looking for a candidate who is/has:

•       Master in engineering with specialization in materials, processing, mechanical, aerospace or similar

•       Proven experience in developing high performance products, principally in the area of high performance honeycombs or/and sandwich cores and panels, and expertise in the relevant markets within the domains of aircraft interiors / public transportation / automotive

•       Proven commercial / marketing development experience in the domain of technical products

•       Hands-on approach, willing to contribute and directly participate in technical developments, production trials and product testing, and then, with the lessons learned, eager to build optimal product specifications, move internal developments forward and introduce the new product range to the market

•       Who can evaluate the market needs and translate these into a program allowing a well-structured product development approach

•       Good knowledge of polymers processing supported by at least basic practical experience

•       Good knowledge of thermoplastics and composites

•       Practical experience in materials engineering, application development and material testing

•       Project management experience, included objective and relevant reporting

•       A committed team player, priority driven and hands-on for challenges both large and small

•       Fluent in English (spoken and written)

•       Willing to travel internationally to visit customers/fairs
